Some of Door County's bravest and cold-averse citizens trek to the shores of Lake Michigan on New Year's Day to jump into the icy water and celebrate the fresh year ahead.
Situated along the Lake Michigan shoreline, this quaint community offers a variety of fun and exciting activities and is a quick drive to some of the county’s most iconic natural treasures. 1. Attend Maifest. The highly anticipated festival is the town's official signal of spring. Packed with activities, local cuisine, and opportunities for artistic edification, the festival is held in Lakeside Park and the Erskine Rest Area.
2. Hit up the Tuesday farmers market. Held at Lakeside Park, this weekday market features loads of produce fresh from the fields and crafts straight from the hands of local artisans.
